Choosing the Right Massage Training Program

Before you decide which massage course to study and where to enrol, we suggest you do some research and find out more about what's on offer. Here are some general guidelines of what to look for:

Get to know your future profession

Learn about the profession of massage therapy, i.e. different methods of therapy and the requirements for practicing those therapies as listed on this website.

Career Choices

Consider your career pathway - some programs focus on relaxation massage techniques or general massage, while others target remedial or musculoskeletal applications.

Learn about your trainers

It is good to review the credentials of the trainers or those who are going to teach you. This is vital as you will only be as good as the person who has trained you when you graduate. A variety of specialist trainers each with their own specialist knowledge and practice will give you a good overview of the different parts of the profession.

Try it before you decide

If you are not sure of a particular modality or subject then receive a treatment from the trainer practitioners, graduates and/or student clinic. Remember though, that the therapy you receive at a student clinic will be different from a master practitioner. If you want to experience a modality at its best then book a session with a master of that subject.

See what it's like

Exploring short course options can be useful if you are just wanting to experience the profession without making a commitment to more formal qualifications.

Enhance your skills

If you are a personal trainer and just want to add some value-added services for your clientele then look at the short course options offered by Adelaide Massage Academy

Study options

Look at your personal situation and determine whether you would like to study full time or part time. If you have a regular job, studying part time may be the best option as you can take your time to complete courses and, of course, spread out the cost of them over a longer period of time. Whether you want to study full time, part time or "your own time", you will find the most flexibility and study options at Natural Health Academy
